Research
I conducted foundational research and interviewed people at a flower shop to learn about the users I am designing for and gain an understanding of what the user might want in a flower app.
Empathy Map

After conducting interviews and empathizing with the user, I created aggregated empathy maps and personas to get a clear view and identify user pain points and patterns.

Ideate
Problem Statement
Adam is an Electrical Engineer who needs a flower bouquet app because he would like to send flowers to his wife regularly when he is out of town.
Goal Statement
Our " All in One" app lets users customize flower bouquets and place scheduled, and repetitive deliveries in advance.
I then started using the Crazy 8 method to generate a wide variety of solutions and ideas.

I then created two different storyboards to help me visually see and describe the users experience with the product.

Design, Test and Iterate
After finishing the research and ideation phase I sat down and paper sketched some wireframes.
Putting pen to paper

Using the knowledge I gained from my research and ideation I wanted to make the app easier to use for all age groups. Accessibility and equity-focused design were on top of my priority list.
Goals when moving to digital :
-
Establish the basic structure of different pages.
-
Highlight intended functions.
-
Make iterations on time.
-
Catch problems early.
Using Gestalt Principles I focused on -
-
Similarity
-
Proximity
-
Common region
My first sketch consisted of ideas I had in mind while going through the ideation phase. I focused on the home, bouquet customization, and flowers page. I added stars on the ideas and wireframes I liked the most.
After receiving various feedbacks and considering basic visual cues I moved to Figma to convert my paper wireframes to digital and make some changes along the way.
First Digital Wireframe

After completing the first digital wireframe, I decided to conduct an early moderated and unmoderated usability study. I had 5 participants and made sure they all received a $10 gift card as a thank you. I also created a notetaking spreadsheet to help me understand users' pain points and similar experiences they face while testing my low-fidelity prototype.

Affinity Diagram
I conducted foundational research and interviewed people at a flower shop to learn about the users I am designing for and gain an understanding of what the user might want in a flower app.

Making insights from observations
I created an affinity diagram based on my usability study finding in order to synthesize and organizes data into groups with common themes or relationships
I then used the research insights to revise my designs.
Style Vision

Prototype
76% of the users said that the most significant characteristic of an app is the ease of use. It is important to develop a flower app that is quick to navigate and features a user-friendly design. This creates fewer problems, boosts user engagement, and perfects functionality to create a strong link between the app and users.
